Animal Feed Pig
Brazil: BioAktiv Increases ADG, Improves FCR and Lowers Mortality
Brazil 2013: BioAktiv Brasil conducted a study of using BioAktiv for Animal Feed on two groups of piglets in a piggery in Arroio do Meio, a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Su, Brazil in April and November 2013. The study concluded that using BioAktiv for Animal Feed increased ADG by about 11% (Apr) and 6% (Nov), improved FCR by 9% (Apr) and 6% (Nov) and reduced mortality as much as 42%. Spain: Better Feed Efficiency, More Lean Meat and Lower Mortality
Spain 2013: A study in Spain showed that BioAktiv-treated pigs was 2.71% lower, ADG was 16 g/day higher, FCR was 0.057 better and lean meat percentage was 1.78% higher than those of the untreated pigs. [Summary] [Report]
Philippines: BioAktiv Proven in a Pig Farm
Philippines 2009: BioAktiv Far East, working with its Philippines partner, conducted a study in a pig farm in Antipolo City, Philippines. The 60-day study started with two groups of 30-odd 100-day-old pigs. One group of pigs received BioAktiv for Animal Feed while the other group did not. Findings showed that using BioAktiv increased ADG by 7.1% and improved FCR by 4.4%. [Summary] [Report]
Germany: A Study by Saxony-Anhalt State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture
Germany 2003: Saxony-Anhalt State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture conducted a study on two group of 80 fattening pigs housed in identical sheds. The test group received BioAktiv feed additive while the control group did not. At the end of the study, the ammonia concentration in the test shed was more than 50% lower than that in the control shed. In addition, pigs fed BioAktiv had 7 fewer days in pen and 6% higher ADG with statistical significant. [Summary] [Report]
Germany: Use BioAktiv for Better Performance
Germany 2001: Saxony-Anhalt R&D Institute for Animal Husbandry and Technology, Iden, Germany conducted a study on two groups of 100 piglets. One group received 200 g BioAktiv Animal Feed per tonne of feed while the other control group did not. The study showed with statistical significance that using BioAktiv shortened fattening period by 9 days, improved FCR by 8% increased ADG by 59 g per day, 1.3% higher lean proportion and 7% wider loin-eye area. The return on investment of using BioAktiv was more than 8. [Summary] [Report]
Australia: A Study by the University of Queensland
Australia 2001: The University of Queensland, Australia reported in May 2001 their research investigation on the effect of BioAktiv for Animal Feed on pigs. The study covered a test group and control group each with 10 sows and their offspring. The study concluded that the addition of BioAktiv to the diet improved the health status of the pigs including a significant improvement in piglet growth performance and grower-finisher pig FCR (14%). Salis Pig
Hein Houbraken: Cleared Manure Pits and Richer Manure
Netherlands 2019: Three years ago, Hein Houbraken was struggling with thick solid manure in his manure pits. The slatted deck was clogging and Houbraken was unable to empty the pits. He solved the problem by treating the deck with BioAktiv Liquid Manure and added BioAktiv Salis in the feed. Separating the manure is now more efficient and the flies are reduced. [Report]
EvoAktiv: A Trial on Sows at Hog Slat TDM Farm 29
North Carolina 2017: EvoAktiv, the BioAktiv distributor of USA, treated all sows at TDM Farm 29 with BioAktiv Salis for 92 days starting 14 June 2017. Despite the diarrhea epidemic in September killing at least 300 piglets, their average weight was increasing and live births per sow rose from 12.49 to 13.44. Tests showed that aerobic microbes in manure lagoon and pit of BioAktiv-treated sows increased by 592% and 875% respectively. When sprayed on fields, the treated manure gave 328% higher soil microbial activity than the North Carolina average. [Report]
EvoAktiv: BioAktiv Enables Lower Ammonia Emissions and More Sellable Piglets
North Carolina 2017: EvoAktiv, the BioAktiv distributor of USA, reported that, after giving 200 g of BioAktiv Salis per day for 48 days to a piglet nursery in a 8,500-sow breeder farm, ammonia concentration in that nursery was once 54% lower than that of another nursery not given Salis. Methane emissions were 61% lower. In addition, unsellable pigs were 0.35% fewer, survival rate was 2.25% higher, FCR was 0.20 better and the farmer earned USD 0.13 more per pig. [Report]
Netherlands: More and Healthier Piglets
Netherlands 2013: Topturn Agro, the BioAktiv distributor in the Netherlands, carried out a study at a pig farm with 320 sows and 2,200 fattening pigs. To reduce streptococcal infections among the suckling piglets, the farm fed all the farrowing sows BioAktiv Salis and BioAktiv Salis-S so that they produced more milk to feed the piglets. The study showed that after feeding the sows the two BioAktiv products, they produced more piglets and more piglets weaned heavier and with better quality. [Summary] [Report]
Czech Republic: Trials at Integraz spol. s r.o. pro ŽV Záhorčí
Záhorčí 2013: The company Integraz spol. s r.o. pro ŽV Záhorčí did trials using BioAktiv Salis and BioAktiv for Liquid Manure on two batches of fattening pigs. The pigs fed BioAktiv showed better feed conversion and higher average daily gains. The overall economic benefit from BioAktiv application was about Kč0.25 per kg or Kč29.84 per animal. BioAktiv also made manure slurry more homogeneous and consistent, with 30 % less deposits than untreated manure. [Report]
